Hastings and Rother Credit Union
Accounts for Community Groups

credit_union.jpg

Following recent legislative changes, credit unions can now provide services to community groups, social enterprises and businesses; helping organisations that need financial services and attracting investment into communities.

The following are some of the organisations that might like to consider joining.

            Residents’ association

            Parish Council

            Small business

            Local charity

            Community Group

            Parents/Teachers Association

            Freeholders’ Association

            Faith Group

If you are located within, or provide services to, residents of Hastings Borough or Rother District, you are eligible to join. Your money would be helping the local community and enable you to take out a small loan to help your activities.

To open an account with Hastings & Rother Credit Union, complete the form below with details of your organisation and at least two officers who are cheque signatories and return it to us. You will also need to provide a copy of the organisation’s constitution, charity registration or other evidence of its existence as well as the usual ID for two officers [explained here]. If the officer is already a member of the credit union, they do not need to provide ID but should provide their membership number.

Our leaflet "Community Banking for Community Groups" is here.
